Richard McPhail is Executive Vice President and CFO of The Home Depot, the world's largest home improvement retailer with more than 2,300 stores and approximately 475,000 associates. He is responsible for the company's financial operations and functions that drive the company's growth and strategy to create the most seamless, interconnected experience in retail. This includes financial performance management, capital allocation, financial services, controllership, investor relations, tax, treasury, real estate, corporate strategy and strategic business development.
Richard joined The Home Depot in 2005 and has worked in senior roles in strategic planning, financial planning, business development, international financial management and served as the primary finance partner to all main commercial functions. Prior to joining the company, he gained international experience leading corporate development at Marconi Corporation and held positions at Wachovia Securities and Arthur Andersen. Richard earned bachelor's degrees in economics and business management from North Carolina State University and a master's degree in business administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Richard serves on the executive committee of the Metro Atlanta Chamber and sits on the board of The Westminster Schools and Woodruff Arts Center.

She joined Bantam Doubleday Dell in 1996 as an industrial engineer working through the merger first with Random House, and then with Penguin.
